Faux horn sample photography is being replaced with individual shots — every photo will match its size, finish and part number. Ask us for current photos of this family and we will send them the same day with the spec sheet.
What goes wrong
Three failures we test for before bulk
- Batch-to-batch shade difference. Two production runs, two shades of 'brown horn' — the brand rejects the second lot and you absorb the freight.
- Too glossy, reads as plastic. A high-shine surface kills the premium look on a $120 shirt; buyers notice immediately.
- Deformation in garment dyeing. Buttons go through the dye bath with the garment and come out oval instead of round.
Each of these is a claim on your P&L, not a technical detail. We test the condition your care label specifies and put the result in writing before production starts.
Buyer questions
Faux horn — FAQ
What is the difference between faux horn and real horn?
Real horn is a natural by-product: every piece differs, it needs CITES-related paperwork for some markets and it is costly. Faux horn is resin with a controlled streak pattern — consistent shade, stable price, no animal-material compliance questions.
Can the buttons go through garment dyeing with the garment?
Tell us the dyeing temperature and duration at inquiry. We test the specific condition and confirm in writing whether the button is suitable — we do not assume.
Is the streak pattern the same on every button?
The pattern is controlled within an approved range, not identical piece to piece — that is what makes it look like horn. You approve a physical sample range before bulk.
Can you engrave a logo on faux horn?
Yes, laser engraving works well on the matte finish. We send an engraved sample for approval before production.
